Hi there,

today I'd like to write a few things about striping tape and show You two manicures I recently did using it.

Taśmy do zdobień są teraz dostępne w różnych rozmiarach i kolorach. Często są metaliczne, brokatowe, a nawet holograficzne i występują w różnych odcieniach. Rozmiary jakie ostatnio widziałam to 1,2 i 3 mm. Born Pretty Store oferuje je w zestawach, w kolorze srebrnym i złotym. Jak na razie kształty na jakie trafiłam to prosty i chevron.

Striping tapes are now available in various sizes, shapes and colour. They're often metallic, glittery or even holographic and they come in different shades. The sizes I've seen recently are 1, 2 and 3mm. Born Pretty Store offers them in a set, in silver or gold. For now the shapes I came across are straight and chevron.

Taśma jaką będę dzisiaj recenzować została wysłana do mnie od Born Pretty Store. Ma 0,8mm i jest tylko prostą linią w kolorze ciemno fioletowym #16. Możecie ją znaleźć TUTAJ.  Taśma ma dobrą jakość, klej nei jest zbyt słaby, ale też nie ekstremalnie silny. Praca z nią była łatwa i przyjemna. Pozostałe taśmy jakie widzicie na moich zdjęciach kupiłam na BPS sama. Taśma do zdobień może być używana na wiele róznych sposobów. Jedynym ograniczeniem jest nasza kreatywność. Zdecydowalam się zrobić dwa mani żeby pokazać tylko dwa sposoby jak można się z nia pobawić. Na końcu tego postu pokażę Wam też kilka starszych zdobień w których użyłam taśmy.

The tape I'll be reviewing today was send to me from Born Pretty Store. It's 0,8mm and just a straight line in dark purple #16. You can find it HERE. The tape has good quality, the glue isn't too weak, but also not extremely strong. Working with it was easy and a lot of fun. The rest of the tapes You can see on my photos I bought from BPS on my own. Striping tape can be used in many different ways. The only limit is our own creativity. I decided to do two manicures to show You just two ways to play with it. At the end of this post I'll also show You some older designs in which I used striping tape.

Pierwszy manicure jaki zrobiłam zawiera taśmę do zdobień jako dekorację. Przykleiłam ją w kilku prostych liniach na palcu serdecznym i środkowym. Ważną rzeczą jest dokładne przycięcie taśmy na brzegach paznokci, żeby kiedy pokryjemy całość top coat'em pokryć również końce taśmy. Zapobiegnie to odklejaniu się taśmy na brzegach.

The first manicure I did has striping tape in it as a decoration. I stuck it in a few straight lines on my ring and middle finger. The important thing is that we cut the tape precisely on the edges of our nails, so when we cover the whole thing with a top coat we also cover the ends of the tape. This will prevent the tape from unsticking on the edges.

Piekny, delikatny róż jaki widzicie na moich paznokciach to Golden Rose Ice Chic 10. Jak wspominalam wcześniej bardzo lubię te lakiery, aplikacja to marzenie! Ten jasny kolor potrzebował trzech warstw, ale były one łatwe, szybcie i bezproblemowe.

The beautiful, soft pink You can see on my nails is Golden Rose Ice Chic 10. As I mentioned before I really like these polishes, the application is a dream! This light shade needed three coats, but they were easy, quick and flawless.

Żeby to mani było bardziej interesujące odbiłam trochę serduszek pomiędzy tasmą. Wzór pochodzi z płytki Uber Chic 4-02 i odbiłam go tak ładnie używając Stempla Born Pretty Store Clear Jelly. Fioletowy lakier jakim stemplowałam to Mundo de Unas 21 Purple.

To make this manicure more interesting I stamped some heart designs between the tape. The design comes from Uber Chic 4-02 plate and I stamped it so nicely using the Born Pretty Store Clear Jelly Stamper. The purple polish I stamped with is Mundo de Unas 21 Purple.

Moja kolejna propozycja to technika w której tasma tylko pomaga osiągnąć laser nail art. Odklejamy ja w pewnym momencie.

My next proposition is a technique where the tape just helps create a laser nail art. We peel it of at some point.

Bazowe kolory jakich tutaj użyłam to Golden Rose Ice Chic 10 jak w poprzednim mani i Essie Blossom Dandy. Nałożyłam trzy warstwy lakieru GR i tylko dwie super łatwe Essie. Jeśli się zastanawiacie to ten lakier nie jest dokaldnym dupe'm Essie Mint Candy Apple (mam starą wersję), jest troszkę zieleńszy. Dla mnie jednak są one bliskie, a formuła Essie Blossom Dandy jest lepsza.

The base colours I used here are Golden Rose Ice Chic 10 just like in my previous manicure and Essie Blossom Dandy. I applied three coat of the GR polish and just two super easy coats of Essie. If You're wondering this polish isn't an exact dupe of Essie Mint Candy Apple (I have the old version), it's a tat greener. For me though they're close and the formula of Essie Blossom Dandy is better.

Kolejnym krokiem jest przyklejenie taśmy losowo na paznokciach. Ważną rzeczą jest żeby nasza baza była w 100% sucha albo zniszczymy ją kiedy będziemy odklejac taśmę. Ja nałożyłam szybkoschnący top, tak dla pewności. Taśma musi być mocno przuklejona do paznokci, ponieważ będziemy nakladać kolejny lakier na wierzch. Nie chciałybyśmy żeby lakier podsiąknął pod taśmę i zalał nasze paski. W tym mani kluczowe jest żeby działać szybko, więc lakier jaki wybieramy żaby pokryc taśmę jest ważny. Musimy odkleić ją zanim nasz "wierzchni" lakier zacznie wysychać. Żeby to zrobić, dobrze jest użyć łatwego jednowarstwowca. To powód dla którego ja wybrałam My Secret Dressed In Black do tego mani ;)

Ostatnim krokiem jest nałożenie top coat'u żeby wyrównać mani i skonczyłyśmy.

The next step is sticking the striping tape randomly on our nails. An important thing is that our base colour has to be 100% dry or will ruin it when we take the tape off. I applied a quick drying top coat just to be sure. The tape has to be firmly stuck to our nails, because will be applying another polish on top of it. We wouldn't want the polish to soak under the tape and flood our stripes. In this manicure it's crucial to work fast, so the polish we choose to cover the tape is important. We have to take it off before the "on top" polish starts to dry. In order to do that, it's nice to use a easy onecoater. That's the reason I picked My Secret Dressed In Black for this manicure ;)

The last step is applying a top coat to even out the manicure and we're finished.

Założę się, że słyszałyście już o przeźroczystych tintach, prawda?

Hi there!

I bet You heard about sheer tints by now, right?

Są one zazwyczaj butelkowane jak lakiery do paznokci i są ekstremalnie przeźroczyste. Wpadłam na coś takiego po raz pierwszy lata temu. Przez przypadek wygooglowałam TO mani i nie mogłam uwierzyć własnym oczom. Tinty użyte tutaj to Mia Secret Tints i w tamtym czasie były one trudno dostępne i na prawdę drogie. Tak baaaaaardzo chciałam je mieć, ale nie mogłam sobie na nie pozwolić..

Po pewnym czasie kupiłam te oto Chińskie maleństwa. Już opisywałam cała historię o tym jak je dostałam TUTAJ, ale w skrócie - są z Chińskiego Centrum i bardzo przypominają Mia Secret Tints.

They're usually bottled like nail polishes and they're extremely sheer. I came across something like this for the first time years ago. I googled by accident THIS manicure and couldn't believe my eyes. The tints used here are Mia Secret Tints and at the time they were hard to get and really expensive. I wanted them soooo badly, but just couldn't have them..

After some time I bought these Chinese little babies. I already wrote the whole story about how I got them HERE, but shortly - they're from a Chinese Store and they we're really close to the Mia Secret Tints.

Mijały lata i nie tak dawno O.P.I wypuściło produkt, który zrewolucjonizował lakierowy świat. W mgnieniu oka ich tinty pojawiły się w tak wielu zdobieniach i był użyte na tak wiele sposobów. Nie mogłam w to uwierzyć. Jedyną rzeczą jaka powstrzymała mnie przed natychmiastowym zakupem była ich cena.. Jak zwykle jednak nie trzeba było długo czekać na pojawienie się na rynku podobnych, trochę tańszych produktów, ale równocześnie z tym stało się coś jeszcze. Miłośniczki lakierów zaczęły wymyślać sposoby na tworzenie sheer tint'ów w domu!

Jest wiele tutoriali w internecie o DIY sheer tint'ach. Jednym ze sposobów żeby je zrobić jest rozpuszczenie odrobiny kolorowego lakieru w przeźroczystym, ale przetestowałam tą metodę tylko z czernią. Ja zdecydowałam się użyć tuszy alkoholowych. Moje tusze to Stamperia Colorink'i i kupiłam je w TYM i TYM sklepie internetowym. Mają 14ml, kosztują około 16zł i występują w wielu różnych kolorach. Poniżej możecie zobaczyć moją mała kolekcję ;)

Years passed and not long ago O.P.I lunched a product that revolutionized the polish world. In a blink of an eye their tints appeared in so many nail arts and were used in so many ways. I just couldn't believe it. The one thing that stopped me from buying them right away was their price.. As usual though we didn't have to wait long for similar, a bit cheaper products to appear on the marked, but along with that something else happened. Nail polish lovers started coming up with ways to create sheer tints at home!

There are lots of tutorials on DIY sheer tints on the internet. One way to make them is to just dissolve a bit of coloured nail polish in a clear one, but I only tested this method with black. I decided to use alcohol inks. My inks are Stamperia Colorink's and I bought them from THIS and THIS on-line store. They're 14ml, they cost about 16zł and they come in a lot of different colours. Below You can see my little collection ;)

Kupiłam także dużo przeźroczystych lakierów z Golden Rose żeby w nich rozpuścić tint'y. Ważną rzeczą jest to, że każdy tusz alkoholowy ma inną intensywność w zależności od koloru. Kiedy mieszałam moje przeźroczyste tinty testowałam ile kropli tuszu alkoholowego potrzebuję, żeby uzyskać satysfakcjonujący rezultat dla każdego koloru oddzielnie. Wypiszę dokładne proporcje poniżej, ale jest to bardzo indywidualna kwestia. Musicie zdecydować same jak intensywne tinty chcecie mieć. Czy mają być ciemne i wyraziste czy pastelowe.

Na tą chwilę zrobiłam 19 małych buteleczek.

I also bought a lot of clear nail polishes from Golden Rose to dissolve my tints in. The important thing is that each alcohol ink has different intensity depending on its colour. When I was mixing my sheer tints I tested how many drops of alcohol ink I need to achieve a satisfying result for each colour separately. I'll list the exact proportions below, but it's all a very individual thing. You have to decide for your own how intensive You want your tints to be. Are they supposed to be dark and vibrant or pastel.

For now I made 19 little bottles!

Tutaj są wszystkie kolory jakie stworzyłam położone w jednej warstwie na wzorniku. Nałożyłam też Chińskie Tinty dla porównania, są ponumerowane od 02 do 11 (to są te ciemniejsze).

Here are all on the colours I created layerd in one coat on a wheel. I also applied the Chinese Tints for comparison, they're numbered from 02 to 11 (they're the darker ones).

Tinty mogą być wykorzystane do tak wielu rzeczy, że ciężko je wszystkie wyliczyć. Ja używam ich głównie do kolorowania stemplowych wzorów. Tutaj możecie zobaczyć kilka moich prac z użyciem Tint'ów DIY:

Sheer tints can be used for so many things that it's hard to enumerate all of them. I mainly use them to colour stamping designs. Here are some of my works using the DIY Tints:

UWAGA: Muszę też wspomnieć, że tusze alkoholowe są przeznaczone do rękodzieła i sztuki, nie do paznokci. Ja używam ich w taki, nie inny sposób na własne ryzyko, tak samo jak każdy kto zdecyduje się podążać za tym tutorialem. Osobiście nie zaobserwowałam żadnego negatywnego wpływu tych tint'ów, ale ostrożność jest zalecana.

Co sądzicie o trendzie przeźroczystych tint'ów? Macie je? Używacie? Dajcie mi znać w komentarzach na dole!

CAUTION: I also have to mention that alcohol inks are meant for craftwork and art, not nails. I use them the way I do on my own peril and so does anyone who decides to fallow this tutorial. Pesonally I havn't observed any negative influence of these tints, but caution is advised.

Dzisiaj przychodzę do Was z szybkim postem na temat jak używać naklejek wodnych. To dla mnie najłatwiejszy sposób na zdobienie paznokci. Jest czysty i dość prosty, jest niemal zawsze idealny bez poprawek i robi wrażenie na ludziach dużo bardziej niż zwykły jednokolorowy manicure.

Today I come to You with a quick post on how to use water decals. This is the easiest way for me to do nail art. It's clean and quite simple, it's almost always perfect without corrections and it impresses people more than just a plain one colour manicure.

Dużo jest firm produkujących naklejki wodne, więc nie zawsze jesteśmy pewni jaki rodzaj dostaniemy. Większość naklejek jakie kupuję to ten sam rodzaj jaki pokazany będzie w "instrukcji". Są bardzo cienkie i łatwo dopasowują się do paznokcia. Nie podnoszą się po nałożeniu ich, są jak folia spożywcza - przyklejają się do powierzchni. Kiedy są suche i położymy na nie top coat, nie widać krawędzi naklejki. To są według mnie cechy dobrych naklejek wodnych.

There are a lot of brands that produce water decals, so we're not always sure what kind we'll get. Most of the decals I buy are the same kind as  will be shown in the "manual". Their very thin and they easily adjust to the nail. They don't rise up after putting them on, their like a food wrap - they stick to the surface. When they're dry and we put a top coat, we don't see the edges of the decal. Those are the attributes of a good water decal for me.

Teraz przejdźmy do części "jak to zrobić". Będę prezentować jak ja lubię używać naklejek wodnych. Jestem całkiem pewna, że każda osoba robi to trochę inaczej, ale główne kwestie są takie same :)

In the end of this post I'll also show You a comparison of two types of decals.

Now let's go to the "how to" part. I'll be presenting You how I like to use water decals. I'm quite sure that every person does it a bit different, but the main things are the same :)

Naklejki wodne są jak tatuaże z gumy balonowej, działają z wodą. Prawie wszystkie jakich używałam wyglądały jak te tutaj. Są umieszczone na białej kartce papieru i maja przezroczystą folię na górze.

1. Zdejmij folię.

Możemy to zrobić przed lub po wycięciu obrazków jakich będziemy używać. Polecałabym po, ponieważ reszta naklejek będzie dalej miała coś do ochronienia ich powierzchni.

Water decals are like tattoos from a bubble gum, they work with water. Almost all I ever had looked like these ones here. They are placed on a white sheet of paper and they have a transparent overlay on top.

1. Take the overlay off.

We can do this before or after cutting out the images we are going to use. I'd recommend after, because the rest of the decals will still have something to protect their surface.

2. Wytnij poszczególne obrazki.

Nie musimy być dokładni przy wycinaniu, ponieważ naklejka jest tylko troszkę większa niż sam obrazek.

2. Cut out separate images.

We don't have to be precise with the cutting, because the decal is just a bit bigger than the image itself.

3. Włóż kawałek papieru z obrazkiem do wody i zaczekaj chwilę.

Musicie sami zobaczyć jak długo powinniście poczekać. W moim przypadku to zazwyczaj około 1-2 minuty - tylko do czasu aż papier całkowicie zamoknie i naklejka łatwo od niego odchodzi.

3. Put the piece of paper with the image in water and wait a while.

You have to see on your own how long you're supposed to wait. For me it's usually about 1-2 minutes - just until the paper is completely wet and the decal comes off it easily.

4. Zdejmij naklejkę z papierka.

Najlepiej zsunąć ją mokrymi palcami. W tej sposób naklejka nie zwinie się (a lubią one to robić) i nie przyklei się to waszych palców. Jeśli naklejka zacznie się zwija, umieśćcie ją ponownie w wodzie. Powinniście być w stanie ją rozwinąć w wodzie.

5. Pamiętajcie która strona naklejki była na górze.

Wyglądają tak samo, ale kiedy przykleicie naklejkę złą stroną do góry, możecie rozmazać ją top coat'em. Naklejka powinna mieć przezroczystą folię, na której jest nadrukowana na górze.

4. Take the decal off the paper.

It's best to slide it off with wet fingers. This way the decal won't curl up (and they like to do that) and it won't stick to your fingers. If the decal starts to curl up place it in the water again. You should be able to unroll it in the water.

5. Remember which side of the decal was up.

They look the same, but when You stick the decal the wrong side up, You can smudge it with a top coat. The decal should have the clear film, which it's printed on at the top.

6. Najlepiej jest zmoczyć powierzchnię paznokcia.

Pomaga to przesuwać naklejkę na paznokciu i umieścić ją idealnie tam gdzie chcemy. Na suchym paznokciu naklejka od razu się do niego przykleja.

6. It's best to make the surface of our nail wet.

This helps to move the decal on the nail and place it perfectly where we want. On a dry nail the decal sticks to it right away.

7. Umieść naklejkę w odpowiednim miejscu i wygładź krawędzie.

8. Poczekaj chwilę aż wyschnie i nałóż top coat.

W ten sposób ja używam naklejek wodnych  i mi on pasuje. Jeżeli macie jakieś wskazówki to chętnie ich wysłucham! Poniżej możecie zobaczyć kilka mani zrobionych przeze mnie z uzyciem naklejek wodnych.

7. Place the decal in the right spot and even out the edges.

8. Wait a while till it's dry and apply a top coat.

This is the way I use water decals and it suit's me. If You have any tips I'd be happy to hear them! Below You can see some manicure's I did using water decals.

Jednak nie wszystkie naklejki wodne są takie. Czasem są dużo grubsze i możecie mieć trudności z przyklejeniem ich do paznokci. Kiedyś słyszałam, że jeśli natrafi się na takie typ naklejek można pomóc sobie suszarką do włosów. Nigdy tego nie próbowałam, ale podobno kiedy naklejka jest cieplejsza robi się bardziej elastyczna i lepiej dopasowuje się do paznokcia. Poniżej możecie zobaczyć takie właśnie naklejki. Nadal ich nie użyłam po jednej próbie kilka lat temu. To typ jakiego nie lubię.

Not all water decals are like that though. Sometimes their a lot thicker and You can have difficulties with sticking them to the nail. I once heard that when You come across this type of decals You can help yourself with a hair dryer. I never tried this, but supposedly when the decal is warmer it gets more flexible and it adapts better to the nail. Below You can see water decals like that. I still haven't used these after just one try a few years back. Their the type I don't like.

Napisałam wcześniej, że nie musicie być dokładni przy wycinaniu naklejek i z różana naklejką tak właśnie jest. Przy drugim typie naklejek to robi różnicę. Jak możecie zobaczyć róża jest nadrukowana na przezroczystej folii bardzo zbliżonej kształtem do obrazka, pajęczyna natomiast i wszystkie pozostałe wzory są nadrukowane na płachcie jakiegoś rodzaju elastycznego celafonu (nie wiem jak to nazwać lepiej). Jest dużo grubsze niż folia róży.

I wrote before that You don't have to be precise with how You cut out the decal and with the rose decal it is so. With the second type of decals it makes a difference. As You can see the rose is printed on a clear film really close shaped to the image, the web on the other hand and all the rest of the images are printed on a sheet of some sort of elastic cellophane (I don't know how to name it better). It's much thicker than the rose's film.

Tak to wygląda na paznokciach. Kiedy używałam pajęczyny do pełnego mani, nie kleiła się do paznokcia, krawędzie były widoczne nawet po pokryciu top coat'em i czasem się podnosiły. Blisko krawędzi naklejek pojawiły się bąbelki. Od razu zmylam to nieudane mani.

Być może coś robię źle i ten typ naklejek powinien być użyty jakoś inaczej. Tak czy owak, w ogóle z nich nie korzystam..

  

Here's how it looks on the nails. When I used the web's for a full manicure they didn't stick to the nails, the egdes were visible even after putting a top coat and they sometimes rose up. Bubbles appeard near the edges of the decal. I instatntly removed that failed manicure.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong and this type of decals should be used in a different way. Either way, I don't use these at all..
